Companies that support war

Flower show

Naspers chairman Koos Bekker and his wife Karen Roos have achieved the ultimate British societal breakthrough. Their The Newt in Somerset, which they bought in 2013 is the official sponsor of this year’s Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show 24-28 MAY 2022 and will receive guests.

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 24-28/05/2022 is run for the money that Koos earned from working with Avito. This money was received at the expense of the Ukrainian people genocide.

So this year the Royal event is sponsored by the lives of brutally murdered Ukrainians. These flowers will smell like the blood of newborn but already dead children of Mariupol and Bucha.

Public proof that Naspers is a general sponsor of the RHS event:

Naspers is fueling war in Ukraine

Rocket attack on Ukraine

Three weeks after Russia’s unwarranted attack on Ukraine, the ramifications on the tech industry are still coming to light. While a number of tech companies have been forced to choose sides, which is in contrast to their past conduct, Netherlands-based Prosus Group enjoyed some kind of immunity. Not anymore.

With the Russian invasion of Ukraine last month, tech companies realised their moral obligation and were forced to choose sides. While some companies proactively decided to stop their operations or services or sales in Russia, many others had no choice after the US, the UK, and the European countries imposed sanctions.

From the likes of Adobe, Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google, to BMW, Bumble, Disney, Goldman Sachs, PayPal, Samsung, and many others, the list of companies suspending operations in Russia is long. However, there are companies like Prosus Group that continue to operate in Russia. Naspers Limited, a global internet company that counts Prosus as its principal shareholder, has some tough decisions to make.

  • Putin's authority is dictatorial and not limited by anything or anyone.
  • Russia fully works on realization of Putin's aggressive plans, and that is why all of the big and important businesses in Russia are under control.
  • If you just supply any product to Russia or buy Russian energy carriers, you play into Putin's hands with the technologies, resources, or money.

Naspers activity

Corrupt deal

A corrupt deal between a subsidiary of Prosus and Naspers at Prosus Group (MultiChoice is the company that operates the main satellite television service) and the private broadcaster SABC (South African public broadcaster).

Tax fraud

The Nigerian government is accusing Multichoice of 1.8 trillion nairas ($4.3 billion) in tax fraud and is trying to freeze accounts.

Racism

After the appointment of Bob Van Dijk as CEO, he fired all of the top executives from South Africa and replaced them with his friends from eBay, despite the fact that Naspers' shareholders are South African companies and that the project is "built by South Africans for South Africans".

War ads on AVITO

The military leadership of the country uses the AVITO platform as a platform for searching for persons to participate in military operations on the territory of Ukraine against Ukraine, and, at the same time, the so-called soldiers of the Russian army use it for the sale of "looted trophies" in Ukraine.

After multiple accusations from the media, AVITO tried to clean up the ads about the military recruitment for participation in the war against Ukraine. But the ads have not been deleted. They were hidden under the guise of "innocent" ads. For instance:

  • newspapers «Trud» and «Argumenty i facty» (in September 2006, Naspers announced its plans to purchase a blocking stake in the company in Russia)
  • 30% of internet platform Mail.ru from Russian company Port.ru (at the beginning of the year 2007, Naspers Limited purchased mentioned shares for $165 million)
  • 99,6% Avito
